BACKGROUND
Brownsville Orthopedic and Rehabilition Clinic was founded in 1999 in Brownsville, Texas by Dr. Oliver Achleitner. Since that time, the clinic has moved from its initial locations on Jefferson Street to its present location at 535 Parades Line Road. Dr. Achleitner practices general orthopedics, along with specialty musculoskeletal care including:
- Total Joint Replacement and Reconstructive Surgery
- Arthroscopic Surgery of the Knee and Shoulder
- Surgery of the Hand and Upper Extremity
- Surgery ot the Shoulder
- Sports Medicine including Knee Ligament Reconstruction
- Treatment of Trauma and Fractures
- Independent Medical Evaluations and Workman's Compensation Injuries

Dr. Achleitner is committed to serving the community with the highest quality musculoskeletal care available in a readily accessible, caring environment, in a cost effective manner.
BOARD CERTIFICATION
Dr. Achleitner is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Achleitner is a member of the Cameron/Willacy County Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.
HOSPITAL PRIVILEGES AND EMERGENCY ROOM CALL
Dr. Achleitner has privileges at Brownsville Medical Center, Valley Regional Medical Center, and Brownsville Surgical Hospital.

FEEDBACK REGARDING ORTHOPAEDIC CARE
Our policy is to provide feedback to our referring physicians as early as possible. This is usually accomplished via telephone, fax or letter. Additionally, the medical records staff will forward a copy of the transcribed clinic note to the referring physician immediately after completion.
ACCESS TO PHYSICIANS BY TELEPHONE
Dr. Achleitner would like to be accessible to our referring physicians. Please do not hesitate to contact us by telephone. If the physician is not immediately available, we will return your call as soon as possible. A nurse if available to help with your calls.
RETURN OF PATIENTS FOR FOLLOW UP CARE
Dr. Achleitner wishes to provide the level of care desired by the referring physician. As such, we are happy to provide either consultation only or assume full orthopedic care of the patient, as indicated in your referral. Following any services provided, our policy is to return the patient to the referring physician for further medical care.
APPOINTMENTS
Every attempt will be made to schedule your patient for an appointments as soon as possible. If your patient needs to be seen urgently, please indicate so with your referral.
